The room has ample storage, with drawers and a bookshelf built into the wall, along with a closet for hanging clothes. I am leaving behind my full size bed (with boxspring and frame) and mini-fridge, but I can also throw them out if you don't want them.
You will be sharing an amazing, neatly-kept bathroom with one other incredibly considerate and kind tenant. It includes a standup shower and a large soaking tub. Plenty of natural light.
The house has a large open living room area with an exposed brick wall, a refurbished kitchen, and a breakfast nook right off to the side. There is a washer and dryer located in the basement. Additionally, the house has a backyard large enough to host small, socially distant gatherings.
We are conveniently located two blocks off the Mount Pleasant strip, just minutes from the 42, 43, S2, S4, and S9 buses, and a 10-15 minute walk from the Columbia Heights Metro. Street parking is relatively available on the adjacent blocks if you have a car (you'll require a permit). There are several local grocery and convenience stores within a few blocks of the house, and Columbia Heights Plaza (which contains a Target and a Giant) is just a 15 minute walk from the house. The Mount Pleasant strip has a pharmacy, dry cleaner, plenty of great restaurants and bars, and even a small arthouse cinema. U Street, Adams Morgan, Rock Creek Park, and the National Zoo are also within walking distance.
You will be living with four young women professionals, ages range from mid-20s to early 30s, who are all currently working remotely. One roommate has two small, hypoallergenic dogs part-time. Utilities are split 5 ways and usually add up to around $100/month.
